Why Router-Only?

Router-class CPE devices have stronger antennas, better tower performance, and are approved for sustained high-usage internet. Portable hotspots and handheld devices are not designed for this type of service.

Our full-open 5G data plans allow extremely high throughput and unrestricted speeds. However, to comply with carrier policy, these lines include a 1.2 terabyte (1.2 TB) monthly usage ceiling.

Why 1.2 TB?

This limit comes directly from the carrier’s enterprise agreement. Usage above 1.2 TB is considered abusive, meaning the line is being used in a way that violates network policy or exceeds the intended use of a router-based internet connection.

What counts as abusive usage?

• Sustained 24/7 streaming or downloading
• Running servers or data-center workloads
• Using the line for non-router devices
• Automated high-volume traffic patterns
• Any activity that pushes the line beyond 1.2 TB in a billing cycle

What happens if the line exceeds 1.2 TB Three Times in a row?

The carrier may:

• Flag the line for review
• Require a plan change
• Suspend or terminate the line for policy violation

To keep your service active and compliant, stay under 1.2 TB per month.
